The famous Madrid Derby once again comes to the Bernabeu with a nail bitting match ending with victory for Los Blancos with 3-2.
For the first time Madrid win this season whilst loosing at half time, Madrid managed to turn the game around and score 3 goals in just the second half. Atletico currently sat 9 points behind Madrid.
Real Madrid’s hunger was felt from the very start with Carvajal already attempting to score in the first 2 minutes, with an unfortunate save by Musso. Followed quickly by one of the most talked about players this season in Madrid, Valverde’s strike denied by the woodwork, after the ball gliding across the face of the goal. Despite Madrid seeming to dominate, Atletico’s manages to score in the 33rd minute.
The second half kicked of strong with a penalty for Madrid, taken and scored by none other than Vinicious Junior. The 1-1 scoreboard reawakens Madrid in the second half. Valverde scores a fast powerful goal smashing it into the back of the next leaving the goalkeeper no chance in the 56 minute. Minutes after Vini’s pen. Brining the score 2-1. Los blancos lead is unfortunately short lived with, Molina scoring once again for Atletico, 66 minute in the top right corner, now tied 2-2 !
With the only 20 minutes left on the clock Madrid is itching for another goals which is delivered once again by Vini in the 72nd minute with a great assist from Trent. Followed by a shocking decision from the referee awarding the Uruguayan a red card. Madrid is now faced to play the last 10 minutes with 10 men. With 6 minutes of added time Madrid look to defend Atleti’s attack and maintain the 3-2 score with Lunin saving yet another attempted goal. Atletico tries a last attempt at scoring a goal directed straight at Lunin.
Despite Madrid started at a disadvantage the first half they defeated Atletico even a player down, with Valverde and Vini scoring 3 great goals an exceptional performance from Lunin.
