Madrid future unsure

After losing the LaLiga title to Barcelona and the most recent fight between Valverde and Tchouameni, the future of Real Madrid seems to uncertain… to the extent that president, Florentino Perez called a last minute press conference last night to address the on going issues and rumours.

Despite trying to portray stability in himself and the club he has said he would call for an election to show his vote of confidence. This was followed by a press conference this morning ahead of their match against Oviedo, Thursday night. As expected the questions were heavily centred around the surprise press conference and trust in the president, club and players.

Arbeloa had promised confidence and best efforts in their last 3 matches remaining this La Liga season despite their recent loss and spirits on the training pitch seemed to be higher then previously.

Oviedo was one of the lowest scoring in the league with only 26 goals in 35 matches, even underperforming their already low expected points by five. They have already been relegated in 20th place, this comes after winning only 6 matches this entire season and losing 11 games.

Real Madrid vs Oviedo are a more recent match up having only met twice previously once in 2025 and the first time in 2012. Both these meetings ended with a thrashing win for Madrid.
