Barcelona win the title with a 2-0 win against Real Madrid !

With the third Clasico this season, now hosted at Camp Nou these two Spanish powerhouses face each once again, with both clubs being in completely different positions. Barcelona has had the perfect run since 1985, they have won all 17 of their home LaLiga matches this season. This is also their longest winning streak in a single season since 2016. Barcelona are top of the table with one win away from securing their 29th title and the first time in almost 100 years in a Clasico.
Real Madrid on the other hand have had a tough campaign, changing their manager mid-season, countless injuries and now a dressing room fracas ending with Valverde hospitalised after a incident with Tchouameni. Despite Mbappe leading LaLiga with 24 goals he is currently injured again due to a recurring hamstring niggle. Real Madrid have not won any major trophies since 2024, since Mbappe’s arrival to the club.

9 minutes into the game, Rashford kicks off the scoring with a stunning free kick putting Barcelona ahead. The Englishmen who is on loan from Manchester United, whips the ball over the wall and squeezes it just past Courtois and just under the crossbar. Barcelona are on fire, not even 10 minutes later Torres slots in another goal from a high ball into the box, leaving Courtois stranded. Barcelona are hungry for their 29th title. Even without Yamal not even 30 minutes in they already have an even greater lead over Madrid.
Second half starts with a brawl, Real Madrid’s tensions has leaked from the changing room on to the pitch, after a “brawl” breaks out between Asencio and Olmo. What started as an initial yellow card Asencio after a dirty foul towards Torres, Asencio then kicks the ball away which provokes Olmo and leads to him shoving him down. The animosity between both teams is clear with Madrid stopping the play constantly for “injuries” which the referee dismisses. Madrid tried to catch a break but ultimately the flag went up. Another “incident” between Trent and Raphinha results in yellow cards for each and Raphinha missing the next match after a heat of the moment push and shove between the players. Tensions rise higher especially for Madrid who needed to win against Barcelona to have a chance at winning the league.

Barcelona who has dominated the majority of the match with 7 times as many shots on target defeat Madrid with the 2-0 from the first half. Madrid were not able to come together as a team and win which was clearly seen throughout the match, with fights, lack of passes and chances created. Despite Courtois being clear man of the match with countless saves, Barcelona, with no extra time given Barcelona win this La Liga season and during no other match then a Clasico.

Hansi Flick has led Barcelona to win their last 10 LaLiga matches being one of fours coaches in club’s history to succeed this streak. The excitement and meaning for Barcelona winning once again, especially meaningful for Flick who honours his father’s passing just the night before.
Despite already being winners, Barcelona will stay play Deportivo Alaves later this week. Madrid who already looked resigned ahead of the Clasico will still aim to secure second place still needing to face Oviedo on Thursday at the Bernabeu.
