Fight for La Liga

La Liga

Friday night kicks off with Real Madrid vs Girona at the Bernabeu on match day 31

Los Blancos desperately needed and fought for another goal but with no gaps in the game the 1-1 deadlock stayed.

Fast start from the home side with a wave of attacks against Girona with already 3 shots and 1 on target. Madrid have won 7 of their last 8 Friday LaLiga matches and drawn once. With the game unfolding, Valverde attempted far corner whipped in goal but is just about saved by the Girona keeper. Real Madrid have also won 13 of their 15 La Liga matches this season. Although Madrid has tested the ex Tottenham goalie continuously in the match, the scoreboard still remained goalless in the first half.

The second half kicked of with a strike from none other than Fede Valverde after an assist from Diaz. The Uruguay now has 5 goals and 7 assists this season in La Liga. With an equaliser from Girona’s midfielder, Thomas Lemar in the 62 minute, the scoreboard now comes to a 1-1 draw. Despite Mbappe going down, the referee doesn’t stop play and controversially doesn’t do a VAR check.

Despite the match ending in an unfortunate draw, Real Madrid fought hard and still sit second in the LaLiga table with 9 points below Barcelona.
